Founded by American Express Company, JCB Co., Ltd., MasterCard International and Visa International, the Mobile Payment Forum aims to standardize the building blocks necessary to deploy global solutions for secure mobile payments.
Focusing on payment card transactions, used in almost 93% of all e-commerce payments*, the Mobile Payment Forum addresses key areas such as interoperability passwords, cardholder authentication and encryption methods. Led by a Board of Directors comprised of leading mobile, technology and financial companies, the Forum will develop requirement documents, white papers, use cases, and technical specifications. The Forum also aims to drive collaborative work with other industry consortia and standards bodies.
Upaid is a member of the GSM Association (GSMA) is the world's leading wireless industry representative body.
The GSMA consists of more than 660 second- and third-generation wireless network operators working collaboratively to define, prioritize and communicate requirements, as well as key manufacturers and suppliers to the wireless industry. The Association's members provide digital wireless services to more than 747 million customers (end September 2002).

Upaid is a member of the Global Billing Association, 'the voice and advocate of the billing industry'.
The GBA provides the opportunity to communicate with key industry groups that cooperate in the development of new networks and services, and works to facilitate industry debate on key issues that affect providers of billing and payment settlement technologies. The organization articulates the challenges, vision and ideas of the billing community directly to key decision makers. Additionally, the GBA sponsors workshops that allow service providers and carriers to exchange views, share experiences and information within a confidential and structured environment.
The Association seeks to resolve common problems, to pool resources and to examine the challenges that the billing community faces with the advent of new on-line services.
